China's Shenzhou-14 astronauts have completed their EVAs, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said on Saturday. At 1:35 p.m. (Beijing Time), Cai Xuzhe opened the hatch of Wentian's airlock cabin. By 3:33 p.m., both Cai and Chen Dong were outside. The pair returned to the lab module at 5:47 p.m. after about five hours of EVAs, according to the CMSA, which has declared the mission a complete success. TOKYO, Japan - Hitachi Ltd. said March 23 it has developed a prototype personal digital assistant (PDA) (held by an assistant at a news conference) powered by a fuel cell that runs about five hours. Hitachi plans to make the PDA more compact and extend its operational hours in the hope of launching sample shipments in 2005, a Hitachi official said. The prototype PDA weighs about 700 grams, more than twice as heavy as conventional PDAs, and Hitachi plans to reduce the weight to a level similar to conventional PDAs. (Kyodo)

TOKYO, Japan - Toshiba Corp. said March 5 it has developed a prototype fuel cell (in handout photo) for a portable personal computer that may end reliance on rechargeable batteries. The small form factor direct methanol fuel cell, which the company claims is the first of its kind in the world, has a maximum output of 20 watts and can run about five hours on a single fuel cartridge.
